In November 2002 Dos
Lagos Ranch began trophy white-tailed deer hunting for the first time. The
ranch has been under high fence and intense white-tailed deer herd
management since 1998 and is booking a limited number of hunts each year.
Trophy white-tailed deer genetics (both does and bucks) were introduced to
the ranch and the native white-tailed deer eliminated, thus insuring
tremendous antler potential. Our breeder bucks came from sires scoring 170
to 210 B&C and the does are from big south Texas game ranches.
Our breeder bucks,
as three year olds, scored from 145 B&C to 180 B&C. Our herd sire is
pictured herein and scored over 230 B&C when harvested in November, 2003.
Free choice high
protein feed is available year round and the herd is doe and cull buck
harvested to keep natural foods plentiful.
We
are offering management hunts only for $2,900 per hunter for the 2008
season. A management hunt includes a three day guided hunt of one
management buck (mature 8 point or less), one doe and lodging in a
beautiful, two bedroom, two bath cedar log cabin on a five acre lake with
catch-and-release fishing.
Trophy white-tailed hunts will be
offered for $3,900 per hunter for the 2009 season.
